The second Ben had read that note after a day or two of not knowing where Alec had suddenly disappeared, he'd felt an uncontrollable urge to run out the door and straight to Manticore and not stop until he had his twin back. It was only the soft touch to his arm that held him in place, fingers wrapped tight around the paper in his hands as he gazed down into clouded eyes.
'I have to go after him.' His voice was soft but filled with a mix of anger and pain as Logan's grip tightened briefly on his arm before falling to wrap around his wheel and turning back to his desk.
'You'll need help.' The next few days were filled with Logan giving him all of the information and gadgets he needed to get into Manticore without being detected. As soon as Logan had given him the go he'd headed up to where Manticore was hiding and spent the next day infiltrating the base. Using all of the knowledge he'd garnered over the years of hunting and hiding he quickly moved through the building.
He knew that he should try to find Max first, she'd been there longer than his twin, but he still couldn't shake the possessiveness that made his steps quicken down the hall and stop in front of the door he knew held his twin. Ben didn't even waste time as he kicked in the door, killing everyone surrounding his brother in less than a few seconds and barely a twitch in his expression. The next second he had Alec's form detached from the chair and cradled in his arms, hugging him tightly as he tried to determine if there was still a heart beating in his twin's chest over the sound of his own rapid beating.
